KramAI ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use the KramAI mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Study Content: Text you type, paste, or scan (notes, textbook pages, handwritten material) is sent to Google's Gemini AI service when you request AI-generated study materials.
• Scanned Images: Photos taken with the camera or imported from your photo library are processed on-device using OCR (text recognition). The extracted text may then be sent to Google's Gemini AI service for processing.

Automatically Collected Information

• Usage Data: AI generation count to enforce free tier limits (5 generations per month). Stored locally on your device only.
• Subscription Status: Managed by Apple's StoreKit framework. We do not have access to your payment information.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Generating AI-powered flashcards, quizzes, summaries, study plans, and simplified explanations from your study content
• Extracting text from scanned images using on-device OCR
• Tracking usage to enforce free tier limits
• Managing subscription status via Apple StoreKit

3. Third-Party Services

Google Gemini AI (via Firebase AI Logic)

When you use AI features, your study content (text and extracted OCR text) is sent to Google's Gemini AI service to generate study materials. Google processes this data according to their Generative AI Terms of Service.

Firebase

Used for remote configuration and AI integration. No personal user data is stored in Firebase.

Apple StoreKit

Handles all subscription and payment processing. We never see or store your payment details.

4. Data Storage & Security

• All your study materials (subjects, flashcards, quizzes, study plans, and study session history) are stored locally on your device only using Apple's SwiftData framework.
• We do not have a cloud backend and cannot access your data.
• We use industry-standard security measures to protect any data transmitted through the app.

5. Data Sent to AI

When you request AI-generated study materials, the text content you provide is sent to Google's Gemini AI service for processing. This data is:

• Sent only when you explicitly tap a generate button
• Not stored permanently by KramAI on any server
• Subject to Google's data processing policies

You can revoke AI data consent at any time in the app's Settings screen. Revoking consent disables AI generation features but your locally stored study materials remain accessible.

6. Data Retention

All study data is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes all data. We do not retain any copies of your content on servers.

7. Your Rights

• Revoke AI data consent at any time in Settings
• Delete individual subjects, study sets, and flashcards within the app
• Delete all data by uninstalling the app
• Request information about your data by contacting us

8. Children's Privacy

KramAI is designed for students of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information beyond what is described in this policy. Parents and guardians should review this policy and supervise use of AI features.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the updated policy and updating the effective date.
